There are different reasons why you would want to support these awesome people. From delivering amazing works all year to simply wanting to let them know that a fan cares. Regardless of what reason you might have, rest assured that they will appreciate the support and effort.
So, how can you support your favorite Black creatives and entertainers this festive season?
Attend Their Shows/Concert/Meet and Greet

The period often features lots of artistic events that include concerts and shows. Some creatives and personalities also organize avenues to meet and greet fans or anyone interested in showing up.
This is the part where you can show your support by attending these events. If your favorite artiste is having a concert, getting tickets and showing up goes a long way to let them know you appreciate their work.
Events like exhibitions, open mics, etc., also fall into this category. Your effort and presence will show your support in these sorts of events.
Stream Their Music/Watch Their Movies
This one sounds and looks straightforward, and that is because it is. Streaming the music of your favorite Black musician displays your support. But then, you can extend this gesture to upcoming Black artists and the ones trying to break into the music industry.
Actors and actresses have something similar but different regardless. You can appreciate their works by watching movies they starred in or produced or directed. Some might already have a biography or documentary about their life or career and you can watch these too.
You can choose to watch these movies at the cinema or on your preferred streaming platform. Simply make sure that you watch them through a means that helps them, which rules out piracy. The same thing goes for those in the music industry.
Write To Them

Yes, you read that correctly. Do you know that you can support your favorite Black creatives and entertainers by writing to them? Most of them have a means through which fans can write or reach them, and you should utilize these channels.
Amid criticism and negativity, you should let them know that someone appreciates their work and efforts. Go as far as highlighting some of your favorite works they have done so far.
Doing this is bound to touch their hearts and encourage them. The truth is that creatives and celebrities face lots of challenges, fear, and uncertainty. This sometimes affects the Blacks in these industries more often than others. You can help mitigate the negativity by writing to or reaching out to them.
Patronize Your Favourite Black Creatives
While you can support them by streaming and watching, there are other ways to appreciate them. Does your favorite Black artist have a Patreon? Or do they stream/play on Twitch? Subscribe to their channel. Patreon works well for struggling, upcoming, and veteran artists alike.
Some creatives have a physical store or place where they put their works up for sale. You can choose to either walk in and purchase something or simply place an order online. Regardless of the way you choose to patronize them, the goal is to help them make sales this festive season.
Publicize Their Works

Everyone wants the work of their hands to become popular and Black creatives are not any different. How can you help them draw more attention to their projects and services? It is quite easy when you think about it.
Posting about their projects online is a good way to make it reach more people. Talk about that movie you enjoyed watching or that track/album that you cannot stop listening to all year. Nothing draws new customers or views more than positive reviews. If you cannot come up with a post, try liking or reposting the artist’s own.
In relevant cases, try to leave a positive review on the site where you got the service. If you watched that movie on a streaming platform like Netflix, leave a thumbs up after the movie/series.
Don’t be ashamed or shy to show off your favorite Black creatives or entertainers. They need all the support we can give them. You might not know all the challenges they face to share their work with the world, but you can let them know they have your support.
