Description
Moroccan Mint Tea, known as ‘Atay Naa Naa’, is a traditional beverage that symbolizes hospitality and friendship in Moroccan culture. It is often served to guests as a gesture of welcome and is an integral part of social gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 liter of water
- 3 tablespoons of green tea (preferably Chinese gunpowder tea)
- 1 bunch of fresh mint leaves
- 150 grams of sugar (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Boil the water in a kettle.
- In a teapot, add the green tea and pour a small amount of boiling water over it. Swirl the teapot to rinse the tea leaves and then discard the water.
- Add the remaining boiling water to the teapot along with the sugar. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar.
- Add the fresh mint leaves to the teapot.
- Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.
- To serve, pour the tea into small glasses from a height to create a frothy top.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, adding more sugar if desired.
- Garnish with additional mint leaves if desired and serve hot.
