2019 Under 30 | Lyonzo Vargas
Lyonzo Vargas grew up in the Bronx, in a culture “filled with people suffering from stress and anxiety due to poor mental, spiritual, physical and emotional diet.” Now based in Philadelphia, Vargas’s past experiences motivated him and made him a cofounder of GLBL VLLG (Global Village), an entertainment and wellness company aimed at giving young people a space to express themselves. His goal is to incorporate wellness into daily lifestyles and encourage holistic healing for marginalized communities.

Lydia Sherice is a model, an actor, a digital marketing strategist and a holistic lifestyle coach. She walked in the 2017 Dream Walk Fashion Show, an “anti-Victoria Secret” fashion show that celebrated inclusivity and body positivity by bringing together models of all sizes, ages, ethnicities, sexualities, and disabilities. Through her work as a model and as a life coach, Lydia inspires those around her to walk in confidence.

Mike Moore is the assistant studio manager at Lil’ Drummaboy Recordings, he is a producer at WURD radio and a full time music artist. The music Moore creates is described as a soulful sound
“that paints pictures like a Spike Lee movie soundtrack.” His work has been featured in independent films, radio show introductions and promotions.
2019 Under 30 | Kyle “JR” Morris
Kyle “JR” Morris quit his job as the dean of Students at an alternative high school in Southwest Philadelphia, to create “an empire to empower the next generation.” He is the founder of Encore Entertainment, an organization that’s dedicated to creatively educating and inspiring people through art, entertainment, and fashion. Morris believes that “education cannot be limited to the classroom.”

Elder Kerrie G. Green Jr. is a native of Philadelphia, PA and a former undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University – University Park. He attained a Bachelor’s Degree in African American studies, minoring in sociology. In the field of sociology, he has been admitted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society for his display of excellence in the study and commitment “to investigate humanity for the purpose of service.”

Ernest Owens is an award-winning journalist and a writer at 1-Large for Philadelphia Magazine. Owens covers a variety of social issues regarding race, LGBTQ, communities, and pop culture. His extensive reporting on racism within the LBGTQ community, and specifically racial discrimination in Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, was cited by the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and led in part to the city government’s passing an antidiscrimination bill in 2017.
