Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/2 cup orange blossom water
- 1/2 cup melted butter or ghee
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tsp yeast
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cups honey
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, ginger, anise, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the yeast, sugar, and warm water; let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter or ghee, and orange blossom water to the flour mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin rectangle, then fold and twist to form a flower shape.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the shaped dough until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, heat honey until warm. Dip the fried pastries in honey, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Let cool before serving.
