Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water (or as needed)
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup green peas, cooked
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the vegetable oil and rub it into the flour. Gradually add water until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the onions and garlic until golden. Add the cumin seeds, coriander powder, and garam masala, cooking for another minute.
- Stir in the mashed potatoes and peas, season with salt, and mix well. Allow the filling to cool.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into thin circles. Cut each circle in half to form two semi-circles.
- Take one semi-circle, form a cone by folding it, and seal the edge with a little water. Fill the cone with the potato mixture and seal the top.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.
