Ingredients
- 10 ripe cashew apples
- 1 liter of water
- 500 grams of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
Instructions
- Begin by washing the cashew apples thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Cut the cashew apples in half and extract the juice using a manual juicer or by crushing them in a clean container.
- In a large pot, combine the extracted juice with water and sugar, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before adding the yeast.
- Pour the mixture into a clean fermentation vessel, leaving some space at the top for bubbling.
- Cover the vessel with a clean cloth and secure it with a rubber band to allow air circulation while preventing contaminants.
- Let the mixture ferment in a cool, dark place for about 5 to 7 days, checking daily for bubbles which indicate fermentation.
- After fermentation, strain the liquid through a fine cloth to remove solids.
- Transfer the strained liquid into clean bottles and seal them.
- Allow the cashew wine to age for at least 2 weeks before consuming for best flavor.
