Ingredients
- 250g split yellow peas
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the split peas in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.
- In a food processor, blend the soaked peas until coarsely ground.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground peas with chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties or balls.
- Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
