    Ingredients

    • 1 kg beef, coarsely minced
    • 500 g pork, coarsely minced
    • 250 g pork fat, diced
    • 15 g salt
    • 5 g black pepper
    • 5 g coriander seeds, ground
    • 5 g nutmeg, ground
    • 5 g allspice, ground
    • 5 g garlic, minced
    • 100 ml red wine vinegar
    • 1/2 cup water
    • Sausage casings (natural or synthetic)

    Instructions

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced beef, pork, and pork fat.
    2. Add the salt, black pepper, ground coriander, nutmeg, allspice, and minced garlic to the meat mixture.
    3. Pour in the red wine vinegar and water, and mix thoroughly until well combined.
    4. Rinse the sausage casings in cold water and soak them in warm water for about 30 minutes.
    5. Stuff the meat mixture into the casings, being careful not to overfill. Tie off the ends securely.
    6. Preheat a grill or braai to medium-high heat.
    7. Grill the boerewors for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through and browned.
    8. Serve hot with traditional sides such as pap or chakalaka.
