- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the vegetable oil and mix until crumbly. Gradually add water to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute.
- Add the minced meat or vegetables along with cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Cook until the meat is browned or the vegetables are tender. Allow the filling to cool.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into thin circles. Cut each circle in half to form two semi-circles.
- Take one semi-circle, fold it into a cone shape, sealing the edge with a little water. Fill the cone with the filling and seal the top edge with water.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels before serving.
