Ingredients
- 1 cup dried chickpeas
- 4 cups water

Instructions

- Drain the chickpeas and place them in a pot with 4 cups of fresh water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 1-1.5 hours.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in minced garlic, cumin, coriander, and chili powder, cooking for another 2 minutes.
- Once the chickpeas are cooked, add the sautéed mixture to the pot with chickpeas. Season with salt and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve the lablabi hot, with a squeeze of lemon juice and garnished with fresh cilantro. Tear pieces of bread and place them in the bowl before ladling the broth over.
