    Ingredients

    • 2 cups black-eyed peas
    • 1 cup palm oil

    • 1/2 cup water
    • Banana leaves for wrapping

    Instructions

    1. Soak the black-eyed peas in water overnight.
    2. Drain and rinse the peas, then blend them with a little water until smooth.
    3. In a mixing bowl, combine the blended peas with palm oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground pepper, and salt. Mix well until fully incorporated.
    4. Cut the banana leaves into squares, and place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each square. Fold the leaves to create a parcel.
    5. Place the parcels in a steamer and steam for about 45 minutes until firm.
    6. Once cooked, unwrap and serve hot.
