Tedd Hall opened this women’s boutique on 52nd Street in 1972. He was 33 years old, and the Strip was a Black mecca. Almost all of those businesses are gone now. Babe is still here. At 87, Hall still shows up. He still buys inventory — deconstructed pieces from Croatia, handmade leather trenches from Hungary, furs, dresses, gowns, hosiery, sunglasses, business suits. Nothing you’ll see on anyone else, because Hall made a decision a long time ago: exclusivity is not for rich white people. It’s for everyone who demands quality.
