Written and directed by Kofi Asante, the production looks at a trio of key documents: The Declaration of Independence, The Emancipation Proclamation, and General Order #3. The play debuted in Philadelphia in 2024. No Longer Bound Productions, Inc. is part of a Black-owned performing arts institution that promotes education, employment, and cultural preservation. The musical is an historical account of a race no longer bound to physical or psychological enslavement.
