Take a deep dive into democracy in print, so to speak; get a clear picture about the evolution of American democracy during America’s current 250th anniversary celebration at the opening of the America Today: Voices in Contemporary Print exhibit showcasing leading print shops nationwide. Hosted by The Print Center, a nonprofit arts group promoting contemporary print and photography, immerse yourself in stimulating issues and ideas such as the current political climate, threats to democracy, freedom of expression, cultural pride, and the changes over 250 years in an art form that sprang up during the Great Depression. The exhibit runs through Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The show will feature pieces that explore democracy, civil rights, social justice, racial equality, and political engagement. The promotional literature notes: “Collectively, America Today highlights how printmaking can spark meaningful conversation and encourage deeper engagement with today’s political ideals and challenges.”
Free; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays to Saturdays. The Print Center, 1614 Latimer St. Email: info@printcenter.org, 215-735-6090 or https://printcenter.org/100/america-today/
