Mother Bethel AME Church, in collaboration with the Colored Conventions Project, the Center for Black Digital Research (#DigBlk) at Penn State University, and the Black Print/Black Bib Initiative at the University of Delaware, invites you to join us for the 2026 Colored Convention Conference.
Together, we will commemorate the birth of the Colored Conventions Movement at Mother Bethel in 1830 while exploring the enduring legacy of Black freedom movements from the nineteenth century to today.
Scholars, educators, artists, students, faith leaders, community members, and the public are invited to gather for three days of conversation, learning, cultural programming, and community engagement centered on Black history, public memory, civic action, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom and justice.
