Description

Ingredients
- 2 cups dried sorrel calyces
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1-2 cups rum (optional)

- 1 orange (sliced for garnish)
- Ice cubes (for serving)
Instructions
- Rinse the dried sorrel calyces under cold water to remove any impurities.
- In a large pot, bring 5 cups of water to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the rinsed sorrel calyces, grated ginger, cloves, and allspice berries.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for about 30 minutes.
- After steeping, strain the liquid into a large bowl or pitcher, discarding the solids.
- Stir in the sugar until fully dissolved.
- If desired, add rum to the mixture and stir well.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve over ice, garnished with orange slices.
