- Hot pepper sauce (for serving)
- Chopped cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas. In a pot, add chickpeas, chopped onion, garlic, ginger, curry powder, cumin, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Cover with water and cook until chickpeas are tender, about 30 minutes.
- Once cooked, mash some of the chickpeas to create a thicker consistency and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water to form a soft dough. Knead for a few minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a flat disc.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each disc until golden brown on both sides.
- To assemble, place a spoonful of the chickpea mixture between two flatbreads.
- Serve hot with hot pepper sauce and garnish with chopped cilantro.
