- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of sugar until it turns golden brown. Quickly pour the caramel into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
- In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the milk mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the outer pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert onto a plate, and enjoy.
