Ingredients
- 1 kg beef (preferably lean cuts)
- 2 tablespoons groundnut paste (peanut butter)

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- In a bowl, mix the groundnut paste, ground red pepper, paprika, ginger, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and sugar with water to form a marinade.
- Coat the beef strips thoroughly with the marinade and let them marinate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) or prepare a dehydrator.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips on a baking tray or dehydrator trays in a single layer.
- Dry the beef in the oven or dehydrator for about 6-8 hours, until the meat is completely dried and firm.
- Once dried, allow the Kilishi to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
