    Ingredients

    • 500g semolina
    • 100g all-purpose flour
    • 100g unsalted butter, melted

    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
    • Honey for drizzling
    • Oil for frying

    Instructions

    1. In a large bowl, mix the semolina, flour, salt, and melted butter until crumbly. Gradually add water until a dough forms. Knead for a few minutes until smooth.
    2. In another bowl, combine the mashed dates, chopped almonds, cinnamon, and orange blossom water to make the filling.
    3. Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball into a disc, place a spoonful of filling in the center, and fold the edges over to seal.
    4. Shape the filled dough into a rectangular shape.
    5. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the makroud until golden brown on all sides.
    6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
    7. Drizzle with honey before serving.
