Description

Ingredients
- 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers under cold water to remove any impurities.
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the rinsed hibiscus flowers to the pot.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the flowers.
- While the liquid is still warm, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- If desired, add vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- Allow the karkade to cool, then refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve over ice, garnished with mint leaves if desired.
