They will be able to match you with projects that best suit your writing skills. LinkedIn is another place to find freelance writing jobs, that is, if you’re willing to dig.
You can also explore platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, other reputable freelance websites, or even dedicated online communities to connect with clients seeking your talent, but first, you need to build a strong portfolio and offer competitive rates.
Freelancing is something you can do both online and in your spare time. You can also choose gigs that fit your schedule.

Tutor / teach online
If you are skilled or knowledgeable in a particular subject, you can become an online tutor, assisting students with their studies. While summer can be for chilling, it is also a time for personal growth or catching up on studies. Whether it’s chemistry, literature, coding, or something else entirely, there’s a chance that someone, somewhere, is struggling with that exact subject and would greatly benefit from your knowledge this season. You can target Black students seeking culturally aware guidance. Start by applying to work for established online tutoring services to reach potential customers.
Another way to earn money that has become popular is by teaching languages online. There are many sites where you can join to become an online teacher and teach English as a second language to people from other countries.
Become a virtual assistant
Are you an organised and social person who loves helping from behind the scenes? You can consider being a virtual assistant (VA). This is the perfect job for those with interpersonal skills and organization. Your work is to handle a variety of tasks for clients, such as making travel plans, performing online research, checking emails, and providing other administrative services. You don’t need to show up in person, as it is remote and online. You can use platforms like Fiverr, Toptal, or Black Virtual Assistants communities.
