20 artists showcase their handiwork

March 31, 2023. Check out 20 ultra-talented local artists from various mediums in a special art exhibition at the scenic Pyramid Club. No gold in this art

March 31, April 1 & April 4, 2023. Fleisher/Ollman presents Black Medallions, No Gold, Eamon Ore-Giron’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, and the first exhibition focusing on the artist’s new Black Medallion series. The show is in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ and the African American Museum in Philadelphia’s exhibition Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America (now through October 8, 2023), which showcases two large-scale paintings by Ore-Giron commissioned by the Pennsylvania Academy. Jazz and Jobim all in one evening

Monterey Jazz Festival On Tour

A touch of Monterey music in Philly

April 8, 2023. One of the world’s longest-running music events, the Monterey Jazz Festival, is celebrating 65 years of excellence with Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour — an ensemble featuring Tony and Grammy Award-winning NEA Jazz Master vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and Grammy Award-winning vocalist Kurt Elling and rising star saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin. They are directed by pianist Christian Sands and anchored by his longtime rhythm section, bassist Yasushi Nakamura and drummer Clarence Penn. Cookin’ with flavor

Family Cook Night, a virtual event organized by the Mighty Writers nonprofit literacy program, is heating up. Kids of all ages and parents (of all ages, too) can learn delicious cultural recipes from registered dietician Noemy Jorge. They can immerse themselves in different foods and international cultures.
