Sandy’s Holiday Recommended Books Of Enlightenment.

If you enjoy reading spiritually enriching books these are my newest recommendations.  As we near the various seasonal gift-giving holidays consider them as gift options for yourself and others. 

Just a Midwife: And Other Reflections by Rev. Dr. Marsha Brown Woodard is the newest in her author library.  This particular reading explores the definition of the birthing process to take on a new whole-life description. It is a part of her Midwife Leadership Style that helped Black clergywomen gather empowerment from the style of sitting around the kitchen table.  Rev. Dr. Brown Woodard is a female clergy trailblazer who has inspired thousands of men and women clergy to be courageous in their ministry seasons.  She is a gifted teacher, counselor, preacher, and spoken word poet. She has had her writings included in various publications and books.  Dr. Marsha Brown Woodard holds leadership positions with various boards and clergy organizations. She is the recipient of many awards and honors of recognition.  Her books are available on various bookstore outlets and amazon.com.

Practical Principles for Successful Living by Larry L. Marcus is a blueprint for creating a personal Purpose Mission Statement.  It lists suggestions on how to better position oneself for individual-defined success. The Reverend Larry L. Marcus is an encourager.  He shares how to reflect on today and tomorrow by taking authority over your past.  He is the founding pastor of the Greater Faith Baptist Church in West Philadelphia. He has proven through the building of this edifice and growing congregation that a vision can become a reality. He has held various clergy leadership roles both locally and statewide.  This book is self-published.

The Devotional for Black Women by Chelsea La’Nere Brown is a book of 52 weeks of affirmations and practical journal prompts to strengthen and encourage Black women.  It inspires one to understand and reflect on your God-given purpose and the biblical principles to embrace your purpose.  Chelsea La’Nere Brown is an Atlanta-based faith blogger who, at the height of the pandemic, began sharing both her spiritual and self-discovery journeys online. Her blog aims to inspire women to become intentional about their spiritual and personal growth while on the journey to becoming their best selves. She is a social worker by call and a business owner.  This book is available on amazon.com and other bookstore outlets.
