The surf scene is on the rise in Liberia and rapidly gaining popularity among locals and tourists taking to the waves. The country has plenty of ocean and surfboards. Its pristine beaches and consistent swells make the country a surfer's paradise waiting to be fully explored.

One of the surfing hotspots in the country is in the fishing village of Robertsport, where Africa's first-ever Surf Tour event "Surf to Rise" went down recently. The best surfers from across Africa came together to ride long waves and make memories. This was a boost to the Robertsport community and its surrounding areas, as it brought both economic and social benefits

The surfing event, organized in collaboration with the African Surf Confederation (ASC), was fully supported by President Joseph Boakai and various government divisions. Indeed, the sport of surfing has been elevated to new heights in the West African country, and this recent event further emphasized its importance. While traditional sports like football and basketball continue to unite communities, surfing is putting Liberia on the map as a sought-after destination for wave riders.
