August 2024, Philadelphia comes alive with exciting events, festivals, and celebrations that attract visitors both locally, and beyond the state who gather to experience a full month of fun-filled activities that highlight the rich culture of Philly, the creativity, and most importantly the history of why Philadelphia is known as the "The City of Brotherly Love".

Being a month of celebration, here are some events that will be held in Philadelphia in August.

Mamma Mia! at the Academy of Music (August 6-11)

The Ensemble Arts Philly this August will entertain the audience with the legendary hit song Mamma Mia by the 1970s Swedish Europop band known as Abba. The event which will be held at the Academy of Music tells the story of a young girl whose desire to be reunited with her father leads her to bring 3 men from her mother’s past to the island for a reunion in hopes of meeting her true father.

A story of love, family, and the amazing bond of a father and daughter is expressed through the ageless Mamma Mia track.
