Devon, England— Plymouth Argyle shocked Premier League’s first team, Liverpool, with a 1-0 win in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, February 9th, 2025 thanks to Ryan Hardie, forward player for Plymouth.
Hardie’s winning penalty after a handball by Liverpool’s attacking midfielder, Harvey Elliott, was the only goal in the 99 minutes of play. All attempts by Liverpool for an equalizer were frustrated by Plymouth’s goalkeeper Conor Hazard.
As the referee blew the final whistle, Liverpool’s dream of winning the FA Cup was laid to rest.
