West-Bridgford, England— Nottingham Forest closed in second place in the Premier League table after a thrilling 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday, 19th January 2025. The victory saw Forest continue their impressive form, with key contributions from Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Chris Wood, who scored the three goals that determined the outcome of the game.

Despite a late rally from Southampton, the fate of the match was already decided within 41 minutes of play. With all three goals for the Forest scored in the first half, the early start saved them from a fiery second half Southampton who though aimed for a comeback, failed to achieve it.

Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa yesterday allowed Forest to catch up on points, and remain behind the Gunners only on goal difference. The twist keeps turning, setting the stage for an exciting race for the top spots as the season progresses.
