London, England— Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, courtesy of Lisandro Martínez’s deflected strike in the 78th minute.

The Argentine’s long-range effort ricocheted off Sasa Lukic, looping over Bernd Leno to hand United all three points. Fulham had dominated much of the first half but struggled to create clear chances after the break. Toby Collyer’s late goal-line clearance denied Joachim Andersen an equalizer.

This win lifts United to 12th place, four points behind 10th-placed Fulham, providing a much-needed boost for head coach Ruben Amorim while making Sunday, January 26, 2024, a sad day for Fulham and its fans.
